  • Starting at $18+ per hour, depending on experience and qualifications, with opportunities for advancement based on certification, performance, and professional development.
Hours: Monday-Thursday 8:30am-5:30pm and Friday 8am-3:30pm

Responsibilities

Optician job responsibilities include:
  • Help patients select frames and lenses that fit their prescription, lifestyle, and budget
  • Educate patients on eyewear and lens options
  • Take measurements to ensure proper fit and vision (training provided)
  • Place and track eyewear orders
  • Dispense, adjust, and perform minor repairs on eyewear
  • Verify insurance and vision benefits when applicable
  • Maintain an organized and attractive optical showroom
  • Work closely with doctors and staff to provide an excellent patient experience
  • Answer patient questions and resolve concerns professionally
  • Accurately document information in our computer systems

Skills & Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to learn technical information and explain it clearly to patients
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Professional, dependable, and team-oriented
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple tasks
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn EHR and optical software
  • Ability to provide exceptional patient service while maintaining accuracy

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous optical experience
  • Experience in retail sales, healthcare, customer service, or a patient-facing role
  • Experience working with insurance benefits
  • Knowledge of eyewear products, lens options and frame styling
No optical experience? We will train the right candidate on lens options, measurements, adjustments, and insurance processes.
