We are seeking a reliable, compassionate, and detail-oriented Bilingual Clinical Technician (English/Spanish) to join our private practice eye care team at Eyecare Associates of Nampa. This is a full time float position between our main clinic and our Community Eye Clinic – adjacent locations. This role is essential in providing an excellent patient experience by supporting the doctor through accurate pre-testing, patient history, and clinical workflow. The ideal candidate is patient-focused, enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in accuracy, efficiency, and professionalism.

Required Hours: Monday, Wednesday and Thursday 8:30am-11:30am (Nampa Clinic) 12:30pm-5:30pm (Community Eye Clinic), Tuesday 8:30am-5:30pm (Nampa Clinic) and Friday 8am-3:30pm (Community Eye Clinic)

Responsibilities

Clinical Technician job responsibilities include:
  • Greet patients and escort them through the pre-testing process in a friendly and professional manner
  • Assist with check in checkout as needed
  • Schedule follow up appointments
  • Explain fees and insurance benefits 
  • Obtain and document accurate patient history, chief complaint, medications, and relevant health information
  • Assist with contact lens trainings and education
  • Prepare exam rooms, sanitize equipment, and maintain clinical cleanliness standards
  • Support the provider during clinic flow by communicating patient needs and ensuring efficient room turnover
  • Educate patients on basic eye health topics, procedures, and follow-up instructions
  • Accurately enter clinical information into the EHR system

Skills & Qualifications

Clinical Technician required skills & qualifications include:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients in both English and Spanish required
  • Experience as a medical assistant, ophthalmic/optometric technician, or clinical assistant preferred
  • Strong customer service skills and comfort working directly with patients
  • Ability to multitask and stay organized in a busy clinic environment
  • Detail-oriented with strong documentation accuracy
  • Comfortable using computers, EHR systems, and diagnostic equipment
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to educate patients in a clear and friendly way
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality are a must
  • Comfortable working with multiple patients and tasks throughout the day
